Why Waste
About Why Waste
Did you know that the concept “waste” is and the act of 'wasting' are human inventions?? Waste doesn't exist in nature. In nature, everything has a purpose. Waste was created by humans for short-term convenience and short-term profit. Wasting results in long-term harmful consequences for humans, nature, and the economy. So the first step in waste management is reduction of over consumption that will reduce the amount of waste generated. Due to the misleading name that it carries, most people assume that there is no end use for waste, but we aim to see the potential of waste and its ability to act as a resource, such as producing bio gas as well as compost. It is also essential to sort waste from the source of generation and to dispose of it correctly so as to avoid various harmful effects to health as well as the environment. It is a common problem seen in many governmental institutions that even though they have the knowledge and skills, the lack of management has caused the programme to not function well. In this project we hope to address all these core issues, and form a mutually beneficial partnership with several organizations to conduct this successfully.
