RIVERSTONE & PITAWALA PATHANA - Mehtab Kaur Chahal

If you want to go on a fun hike and see beautiful views, this place is definitely a place to go. We headed towards Riverstone early morning from Colombo by a private bus. We reached the beautiful waterfall after a few hours and took many pictures. We were able to get close to the waterfall by crossing a bridge. Unfortunately, you cannot swim at this waterfall as it is dangerous to do so. After visiting Riverstone, we continued to drive and reached Pitawala Pathana where we got ready for a windy hike up the mountain.

When I mean windy, I mean it was REALLY windy. So windy, that our group had to hold on to each other from getting pushed off the edge of the trail. It was definitely much colder in this region so we had to dress warm by wearing our jackets (for the first time in Sri Lanka). There was a lot of fog, so we were unable to see much when we got to the top. However, the drive was very scenic and so we stopped at a number of spots to take some pictures. We had a lot of fun chatting and simply enjoying each others' company on this trip.
